Timber Graders

We are seeking candidates to assist with operating our newly installed bin sorter, and to grade timber as a member of our night shift team.  These hands-on roles will require you to work within a team, operate machinery to achieve production targets, and maintain quality outputs. Ideally you will have experience in grading and band saw operation however candidates with demonstrable skills in either discipline will be considered.

Tumu Timbers Ltd is a progressive Hawkes Bay timber processing business, locally owned and operated. Our team culture is positive and enthusiastic with an emphasis on Health and Safety, Quality and Customer Service.  We are based in Longlands, Hastings.

The nightshift hours of work are:

Monday to Thursday: 3.30pm - 2.30am, and Friday: 3.30pm – 12.00am, 50 hours per week.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A proven record of reliability and attendance at work
• To be mechanically minded and experienced in timber grading.
• To be health and safety focused
• To enjoy working in a team and have good communication skills
• To enjoy physical work as some manual handling is involved
• A current forklift license (preferred)
