Despatcher

Do you have despatch experience and an understanding of freight systems and processes?  We have an exciting opportunity for a Despatcher to join our Sales team and deliver outstanding service to our internal and external customers.

Tumu Timbers Ltd is a progressive Hawkes Bay timber processing business, locally owned and operated. Our team culture is positive and enthusiastic with an emphasis on H&S, quality and customer service.

What does the role include?

• Organising the despatch of customer orders.
• Accurately recording orders and preparing despatch documentation.
• Coordinating forklift drivers to load product, ensuring a high level of health and safety is maintained.
• Checking loads to ensure they are correct. 
• Liaising with our Sales, Production and Logistics teams to ensure customer orders meet our DIFOT objectives.
• Monitoring inventory levels and maintaining communication with the Sales team on any inventory related issues.
• Assisting the Sales Coordinators to provide customer service.
  

What will you need to be considered for the position?

• 2+ years’ experience in Despatch / logistics (preferred).
• Be highly customer focussed with excellent communication skills.
• A high level of computer literacy and ability to learn new computer systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Great organisation and time management skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and use initiative to solve problems.
• A pro-active, flexible and ‘can do’ attitude.
